HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO TEACH E-SAFETY RULES IN SCHOOLS
In today's world, it is not easy to protect our children from the dangers of the internet as there are a lot of malevolent people. Not only our children but also we must be aware of the dangers of the internet because we adults also receive so many spam e-mails or get text messages.
We can't do without the internet because it has become a part of our lives also we should be quite competent about the internet to keep pace with the requirements of the 21st century. So what should we do to protect ourselves?
First of all, as teachers, we should inform people about the dangers of the internet and how to use it safely. Our schools should have safe internet policies and we should apply the rules strictly. Here are some basic rules ;
* Be nice to people when you are online
* Double-check information to make sure it is true.
* Think before you post your personal information
* Keep your personal information safe and do not forget to change your passwords every 3 months.
* Do not use any information without permission
* Don't open messages or files from people you don't know
* Never meet up with strangers even if they sound nice
* Do not hesitate to consult an adult if something or someone worries you.
We should not forget that if we use the internet safely, it will be a great contribution to our studies and it will make our lives easier.
